Who We Are

I became a licensed esthetician in 2008 because I wanted to help others feel and look their best naturally, from the inside first. After working at a resort spa for 8 years, I yearned for a more holistic approach to the skin.

I saw the need to nurture the entire body as a whole (not just the skin) with what nature already provided.

Kino by Kimie was formed with the intention of going further than just skin deep. The Hawaiian word “kino” translates into body and Kimie (pronounced or "Key-Me-Aye") is my Japanese middle name.

While I'm helping others on their skin journey it's important to me that your entire "Kino" (body, spirit and mind) is also being renewed and nourished properly.

Organic skincare at Kino by Kimie means that I continue to actively seek out health inducing and beautifying products from high quality sources. The companies I work with must practice responsible stewardship (sustainable, environmentally friendly farms, organic, fair trade etc.) and have ingredients that make beneficial changes in your complexion.

You've got so much to offer this world.

Maybe you're thinking of ways to age gracefully.

Maybe you've tried every acne product out there and still can't manage to control those breakouts.

Maybe you're looking to invest in some quality me-time after years of taking care of others.

Whatever brought you here, I'm ready to help you in the best way I can.

MY MISSION

MY MISSION

To help others reach their skin goals, face life with their best face forward and create a safe haven where men and women can just be.

Hey Friend, Let’s Get Personal!

  • I’m a full-time boy mama and wifey to a Makawao paniolo.

  • Fluent in Hawai’i Pidgin language.

  • I’ve learned everything I know about business from plants, although only half my plants end up living!

  • I never turn down some fried fish- akule, aweoweo, moi- you name it & I'm there.

  • I believe coffee should be enjoyed all day long and I will die (happily & well caffeinated) on this tiny rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

  • I volunteer part of my time each week teaching people about the bible.

  • I’m a chronic thrifter, but I'm not a fan of garage sales.

  • When I'm not working, you can find me in my tita bun at the beach. Once my second shot of espresso kicks in, I’m out there in the lineup surfing.

  • Every day at 3 pm, I pause everything I’m doing for my afternoon bible reading ritual.

  • Yes, I’m a results-driven skin specialist, but at 6 pm it’s just me wrapped in my pareo, on my couch , with a shot of whiskey & my feelings.
