Organic facials at Kino by Kimie are customized and tailor-made for your specific skin needs. The exact same facial is almost never given twice! While the foundation of each facial stays the same, the essential elements of your facial are guided by what your skin is asking for.

Collagen Induction Therapy

Not everyone is a candidate for microneedling therefore there is a mandatory Collagen Induction Therapy consult required PRIOR to booking this treatment. Please refer to the "Collagen Induction Therapy" tab under the FAQ page for more info and to determine if you may be the right fit for this procedure.

For those who are not able to tolerate the CIT procedure, nano needling is a safe and great alternative. Nano-needling is included in the "Welcome to the dew crew" facial and can be safely done every 2 weeks.

Results are best seen after a series of treatments. To help you schedule your series of treatments here is a suggested schedule according to the skin results you are trying to improve:

Chemical Peels

While many have heard of the term "chemical peel", most have no idea what it is or how it works. They also don't realize that there are several kinds of peels and depths and some peels don't necessarily make your skin physically shed. So what is a chemical peel and how does it benefit the skin?

Chemical peels are used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, or discoloration, as well as smooth out skin’s texture.

With three degrees of depth (light, medium, or deep), the chemical agents and solutions range in their ability to exfoliate the skin and penetrate the various layers to achieve these varying results based on their unique ingredients and techniques.

No matter what depth of peel is used, the basic mechanism of chemical peels is to provide a chemical exfoliation that dissolves the “mortar” that exists between our skin cells (the bricks), and remove the layers of dead skin to trigger a controlled injury response that results in the reveal of a more youthful, bright, and even-toned complexion.

Depending on the type of peel, you may notice a mild tingling sensation or feel heat on the skin. Some acids are neutralized and some acids are self neutralizing, so they keep working after you leave.

Chemical peels are not suitable for every skin type and is not recommended for those who have never received a professional skincare treatment before or who are regular sun worshippers. Please refer to the "Chemical peels" section under FAQ for more info.

This versatile AHA peel can target multiple skin care concerns, such as uneven skin tone, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and breakouts. Mandelic acid is also considered safe for all Fitzpatrick types, and gentle enough for sensitive skin. Derived from bitter almonds, this gentle exfoliation treatment can improve skin texture and tone while providing antibacterial properties, making it ideal for oily and acne-prone skin.
Key Ingredient:
MANDELIC ACID: Mandelic Acid is in the family of AHA’s that includes glycolic (sugar cane), lactic (sour milk), malic (apples), tartaric (grapes) and aromatic acids of mandelic (bitter almonds). They are predominantly favored for their powerful anti-aging and pigmentation lightening benefits. Mandelic acid is one of the larger molecules in the AHA family, making it appropriate for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
This unique blend of naturally derived lightening agents can even skin tone and texture for an overall brighter complexion. Also great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. This gentle blend of plant and fruit extracts will benefit the client’s skin by increasing cellular turnover, inhibit skin pigmentation, enhance moisture levels and increase product absorption of active ingredients.
Key Ingredients:
GLYCOLIC ACID: Glycolic acid is the smallest of the AHA family, and is both oil and water soluble, making it capable of efficient skin penetration and long-term skin rejuvenating benefits. Glycolic acid has an immediate effect for texture and skin discoloration improvements.
LACTIC ACID: Lactic acid is a hygroscopic acid that binds water. It has an immediate hydrating and plumping effect on skin. It also has a significant ability to inhibit melanin transfer from the melanocyte to the keratinocyte. This makes it the ideal peeling agent for aged skin experiencing lack of moisture, dehydration, and hyperpigmentation.
MALIC ACID: A powerful AHA that helps enhance the activity of other AHA’s in a chemical peel blend while polishing the skin surface for an immediate, radiant glow.
KOJIC ACID: Kojic acid is a universal skin brightener that inhibits melanin production in the melanocyte, and inhibits melanin transfer from the melanocyte to the keratinocyte. It has been clinically proven as more effective than hydroquinone in lightening skin discolorations.
LICORICE: Licorice is the perfect lightening partner for kojic acid with specific, targeted mechanisms of action at the melanocyte in the epidermis.
BEARBERRY: Bearberry helps licorice extract and kojic acid work better at targeting photodamage and skin discolorations.
VITAMIN C: Vitamin C targets free radical accumulation, collagen production, and visible surface discolorations. Synergistic combinations of these ingredients, blended with the right acids, give powerful results by enhancing skin penetration and biological activity
